Book Character Parade

Today was the last day of school for Term 3 and it was also our Book Character Parade Day.  We all came to school dressed in our favourite book character and got to parade in front of Team 2 and 3 children.  Team 1 then went into the hall for a special assembly to acknowledge all of the hard work we have been doing over the last four weeks for our Read-a-thon.

Magpie Visitors!

Today we had two special visitors from the Mighty Magpies team come and read to us...
Thank you so much to Geoff and Gareth for sharing such awesome stories with us... we loved having you visit our classroom!

Reading Rotation Fun

Our Book Week has continued to be awesome!  On Wednesday we moved through all of the Team One classrooms doing all sorts of Reading activities.  We made paper dolls after we learnt about the author Lauren Child.  In Team Rua we created our very own books - we became an author and an illustrator.  We made birds in Team Tahi, after reading the instructions in a book together.  Over in the Piki Pod we did all things "Pirate-y".  Lots of fun!

Special Reading Visitors

As part of Book Week we had two special readers visit our classroom today.  At 9.30am we had Miss Smith come and read with us.  She read a story about Grandpa's shorts and another about Kapai the Kiwi.  We really enjoyed listening to her and learnt a new word... overawed!  This afternoon at 2.30pm we had Sarah from The Hits come and read an Enid Blyton story to us.  Thanks Sarah :-)
