Poem of the Week

Today we read a poem about socks.  We love this poem!  We illustrated it and put it in our Poetry Books to share with our whanau over the weekend.

That Pesky Rat

We read "That Pesky Rat" by Lauren Child, which is the story of a rat that really wanted to be a pet.  Mrs Gempton set the task of creating a jumper for the rat... we had a class vote and these were our top 3!

A Very Busy Week 7 :-)

Wow... where has the week gone?  Team Toru have been super busy with their learning this week.  We have been looking at doubles to 20 as a knowledge focus for Maths, including a really cool Doubles Rap that we have been singing together.  At Writing time we have been retelling "The Three Little Pigs", as well as learning about punctuation. During Reading time we have used our imagination to create a house for a fourth little pig, as well as describing the wolf using adjectives.  And today Team Toru, along with Team Wha, got to experiment with Zentangle designs...
Whew!  A very busy time for us...
