Gorgeous Dinosaurs

Miss Stevenson helped us to create the most amazing Dinosaur pictures... they took us four lessons to finish.  We used handprints for the dinosaurs, sponge painting for the background and cotton wool for the collage volcanoes.  Don't they look fabulous...

A Dinosaur Bone comes to Team Toru

On Monday, Mrs Ingpen shared her dinosaur bone with Team Toru.  We each had a turn holding it.  It was super heavy!
Miss Stevenson our wonderful EIT Teacher, couldn't believe how big this was... we thought it was a leg bone.  Mrs Ingpen told us it was a femur.  I wonder what dinosaur it belonged to?  Some of Team Toru thought it came from a T-Rex!

Team Toru became Paleontologists!

On Friday, Team Toru became Paleontologists!  Mrs G showed a completed skeleton of a Brachiosaurus and once everyone had a buddy, the children then set off with their pages of bones, to create a skeleton...

I Wonder...

Today Team Toru learnt some new information about Dinosaurs.  This afternoon we wrote down things we wanted to find out about Dinosaurs.  We wrote a question which we called 'Our Wonderings" and put them on our wall.  Some of the things we want to find out are...

• Why did they die?
• How do they fly?
• How do they eat?

Awesome Thursday Learning

We had a special visitor in our classroom today.  Sophie brought her dinosaur to visit.  His name is Steve.   Steve enjoyed hanging out with Team Toru and Dino today!

The Yellow Maths group are learning to add on from the highest number and count back when they subtract.  Here we are at our Whiteboard table with some of our learning!

At Reading time today, we got into pairs and went on a 'speech mark' hunt using arrow stickies.  

Dinosaurs

We are starting to find out more about Dinosaurs.  To begin with though, we did a Y Chart and wrote down all of the things we thought we knew about dinosaurs...

Today for Writing we watched an awesome You Tube clip about Pterodactyls.  We then labelled a Pterodactyl in our books.  Tomorrow we are going to write about what we have found out about these amazing creatures!!  Here is the clip we watched...
