Today Team Toru learnt some more about ANZAC day and what it means to us as New Zealanders.
We listened to some special ANZAC songs, read an ANZAC poem, wrote a story about our learning, chomped through an ANZAC biscuit and created a poppy for a special wreath to put up in our classroom.
The seniors set up a remembrance area outside with crosses representing soldiers who have died in the war. There were 30 crosses altogether.
What a fantastic idea to remember the soldiers that have fallen. Sascha was eager to show me and explain the purpose of these white crosses. great learning.
