The School Cross Country

Today we had the School Cross Country.  We were so very excited as we walked the track first thing this morning!  All of us had on our House colours and were ready to do our very best!  Congratulations Team Toru on a super effort today... Mrs Gempton is very proud of you all!

Photo Day

Today we had our class photo taken.  We had to line up in order of height, take our sweatshirts off and put our smiles on!  Steve helped us get organised on the seats and benches.  Here are some photos of us getting ready :-)

Maths Fun for Home

Here are some of the games we are enjoying playing at the moment, to help us with our Maths learning.  These are super games to practise tens in numbers and number bonds to 10.  Have a go! :-)

Fun Friday

Today we spent some time sharing our published writing with the rest of our class. We chose two of our favourite sentences from our descriptive writing about Puss in Boots to publish.  We worked in three groups and then gave feedback to one another - commenting on adjectives, similes and language we used to describe Puss in Boots.

We also brought along some special visitors to school today.  Lots of soft toys came to share our day with us.  It was really awesome to be able to share our toy with our friends, explaining why it was special to us and where and when we got it.

At 6 o'clock tonight we had the PTA School Disco.  The theme was Pyjama Party.  Here are some photos of Team Toru kiddos celebrating!

Fabulous Maths in Team Toru

We have been learning how to present information we have gathered, in a graph.  This week we used the information we collected about the Olympic Games and which value we thought was the most important, to become an Olympic athlete.  We created a Pie Graph and then wrote our findings.  Check out these clever Team Toru Tamariki!
